The Feel of Mizuno Wave Hitogami 2

Mizuno Wave Hitogami 2 | Mizuno Running Shoes

A week before the Run United Philippine Marathon 2016 (RUPM), I got great news that ActiveHealth has partnered with Mizuno. Selected ActiveHealth Community mentors who will pace on RUPM will be provided with a complimentary Mizuno running shoes, I was fortunate to be one of them.

I chose Mizuno Wave Hitogami 2 since I’m only running middle distance races nowadays. It’s being lightweight gives me an impression that it’s suitable for fast short to middle distance races. I prefer the men’s version though because the women’s version is narrow for my wide feet. Below are the specs of Wave Hitogami 2 for Men.

Weight: 7.9 oz.
Profile (Heel): 27.2 mm
Profile (Forefoot): 18.3 mm
Drop from heel to forefoot: 8.9 mm

I broke in my Hitogami’s during an easy 5K run in one of my AHC mentor session runs and had another test run at a faster pace. In general, the pair gave me a smooth and comfortable ride. I love the feel of its lightweightness and responsive cushioning. It is agile, responding very well as I transition to a faster pace.

Mizuno Wave Hitogami 2 did not disappoint. It has the lightweightness of a racer and a cushioning that can take a runner to longer distances. I can’t wait to run with it from 5Ks to half marathons… or maybe even marathons.
